Animal Adaptations

Our Year 3 Science class has been learning about animal adaptations, an animal’s features and how we can classify them.  We also discussed different animal habitats and how animals learn to adapt to their environment.  Whether they have fur or feathers, when we learn their features, we can learn about how they survive in their habitat.

As the students created their own animal, they were able to understand how features can affect their survival in a given habitat.  Also, Year 3 learned to ask the right questions, “Do you have wings? Do you have fur?” and by asking these questions they can conclude to “What animal am I?”. This understanding of an animal’s features and how these features help them adapt to their environment is just the beginning of our science journey this year.  Pearson Science is Actively Learning!
