The Junior High School of Kotronis Schools participates in the Erasmus+ KA229 project along with 4 other European schools from France (2 schools), Scotland and Romania. The schools will work together for the school years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 in the project entitled “Des Ecoles Européennes engagées pour le développement durable” – European schools for sustainable development.
The aim of this two-year programme is to raise awareness and motivate students around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as outlined by the United Nations.
Students will have the opportunity to meet children from other countries, to communicate their views and experiences in French and English, and to work with their teachers on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as defined by the United Nations General Assembly in September 2015. The 17 goals and 169 sub-goals for sustainable development are of global nature and universal application, and the timetable for their implementation ends in 2030.
The Kotronis Schools will work on Goal 11 (create inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and human settlements), Goal 13 (direct action to combat climate change and its impacts) and Goal 17 (strengthen the means of implementation and reinvigorate the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development).
The programme includes student and teacher travel to partner schools.
