Dear Parents,

Welcome to the Kotronis Schools, a youthful and creative school!

Our primary goal is to cultivate a learning culture, not just to provide education. This is so because we believe that education is not only a preparation for what may follow.

It is also about people’s attempt to relate to the present. What we become as our lives evolve. And that depends on the quality of our experiences here and now.

Thus, our school community moves away from the traditional knowledge-centered school and moves towards a student-centered, experiential and advanced school.

We base learning on the logical process – the one each one of us follows – and reinforce it with multiple vertical and lateral research resources. Music, painting, theater, sports, entrepreneurial thinking and robotics – coding, taught by teachers specialized in each field, support our effort for a well-rounded education.

Our main concern is a school that is “open” to society. A school that opens people’s eyes and minds to the realities of the world and awakens them to claim a fairer world, a world of equality and human rights for all. That is why the education we seek for young people in our school:

  • Focuses on the learner, guiding them to learning through discovery and self-motivation.
  • Is participatory and based on experience, giving joy and satisfaction without suffering.
  • Is related during the learning process to reasoning (head), emotions (heart) and activity (hand).
  • Strengthens and encourages, leads the young to fair play, promoting their physical and mental well-being.
  • Reflects on culture, highlighting it as a single whole, as a set of values and aesthetics, which delimits Greek uniqueness in good composition with the different elements and multicultural society.
  • Is based on active dialogue and cultivates the politically responsible citizen who converses and consults.

At our school we set a common course. Students and teachers. Partners and accomplices!

What is the face of the person we want after all? We would say without any reservation that they are the person:

• who takes responsibility for their own destiny and the fate of society.

• who is troubled and reflective.

• who abhors certainties and doubts based on reason

• who confabulates, negotiates and composes.

• who shows tolerance and understanding for failure and learns from it.

• who actively and creatively participates in political and social affairs.

Picasso once said that all children are born artists…. The problem is how to remain artists as we grow up. Creativity does not only concern the quality of the artist, but of the person who lives with discretion, imagination, insight and spontaneity.

This is the person we dream of and fight for at Kotronis Schools!
