Seit 2016 nehmen die Schulen an dem Programm “Speak Truth to Power” teil, das in Griechenland von der Vardinoyannis-Stiftung in Zusammenarbeit mit Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organisiert wird. Das griechische Programm stand unter der Verantwortung des ehemaligen Präsidenten der Griechischen Republik, Herrn Prokopis Pavlopoulos, und der jetzigen Präsidentin, Frau Katerina Sakellaropoulou, während der Ehrenausschuss des griechischen Programms aus prominenten Akademikern und Professoren besteht (alphabetisch):

Rektorin Eleni Arveler – Präsidentin des Europäischen Kulturzentrums von Delphi, Prof. Athanasios Meletios Dimopoulos – Rektor der Nationalen und Kapodistrianischen Universität Athen, Kiki Dimoulas – Mitglied der Akademie von Athen, Prof. Christos Zerephos – Mitglied der Akademie von Athen, Prof. George Babiniotis – ehemaliger Rektor der Nationalen und Kapodistrianischen Universität von Athen, Prof. Dimitrios Pantermalis – Präsident des Akropolis Museums.

Das Programm ist ein weltweiter Exklusivtitel von Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights und wurde bereits Millionen von Schülern auf allen Ebenen in Afrika, Asien, Europa, Nord- und Südamerika vorgestellt, um ihnen zu zeigen, dass sie im globalen Kampf für Gerechtigkeit etwas bewirken können.

Das Buch von Kerry Kennedy, auf dem das Projekt basiert, wurde im Jahr 2000 veröffentlicht und inzwischen in sieben Sprachen, darunter Griechisch, übersetzt. Es enthält über 50 Interviews mit Menschenrechtsverteidigern, darunter auch Nobelpreisträger, und ist eine Hymne an den unbeugsamen menschlichen Geist. Nelson Mandelas Kommentar zu dem Buch ist bezeichnend: “Das Leben gewöhnlicher Frauen und Männer in diesem Buch, das Leben von Helden, inspiriert alle, die an Freiheit und Gerechtigkeit glauben.”

Pädagogen des Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Center haben auf der Grundlage von Kerry Kennedys Buch ein Lehrbuch erstellt, um das Programm Speak Truth to Power in Schulen zu unterrichten.

Ziel des Programms ist es, Schüler zu befähigen, die Menschenrechte selbst zu verteidigen. In dem Maße, in dem die Schüler beginnen, sich als Menschenrechtsverteidiger zu erkennen, lernen sie, eine aktive Rolle bei den Bemühungen um eine gerechtere und friedlichere Welt zu übernehmen.

Was das Bildungsprogramm “Speak Truth to Power” auszeichnet, ist seine Fähigkeit, zum Handeln zu inspirieren. Indem es den Schülern die Möglichkeit gibt, sich selbst als Verteidiger der Menschenrechte zu sehen, aktiviert es auch die Kraft in ihnen, sich in ihrem täglichen Leben zu verteidigen.

Depuis 2016, les écoles participent au programme ” Speak Truth to Power “, organisé en Grèce par la Fondation Vardinoyannis en collaboration avec Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. Le programme grec était sous la responsabilité de l’ancien président de la République hellénique M. Prokopis Pavlopoulos et de sa présidente actuelle Mme Katerina Sakellaropoulou, tandis que le comité d’honneur du programme grec est composé d’éminents universitaires et professeurs (par ordre alphabétique) :

Le programme est une exclusivité mondiale de Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights et il a été présenté à des millions d’étudiants à tous les niveaux en Afrique, en Asie, en Europe, en Amérique du Nord et du Sud, leur montrant qu’ils peuvent faire la différence dans la lutte mondiale pour la justice.

Le livre de Kerry Kennedy, sur lequel le projet est basé, a été publié en 2000 et il a été traduit en sept langues, dont le grec. Il comprend plus de 50 entretiens avec des défenseurs des droits de l’homme, dont des lauréats du prix Nobel, et constitue un hymne à l’esprit humain indomptable. Le commentaire de Nelson Mandela sur le livre est révélateur : “Les vies de femmes et d’hommes ordinaires dans ce livre, des vies de héros, inspirent tous ceux qui croient en la liberté et la justice”.

Les éducateurs du Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Center se sont inspirés du livre de Kerry Kennedy pour créer un ouvrage pédagogique destiné à enseigner le programme Speak Truth to Power dans les écoles.

L’objectif de ce programme est de donner aux élèves les moyens de défendre eux-mêmes les droits de l’homme. En commençant à s’identifier aux défenseurs des droits de l’homme, les élèves apprennent à jouer un rôle actif dans la création d’un monde plus juste et plus pacifique.

Le programme éducatif “Speak Truth to Power” se distingue par sa capacité à inspirer l’action. En permettant aux élèves de se voir comme des défenseurs des droits de l’homme, il active également la force qui est en eux pour défendre dans leur vie de tous les jours.

Since 2016, the Schools have been participating in the ” Speak Truth to Power ” programme, organised in Greece by the Vardinoyannis Foundation in collaboration with Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. The Greek programme was under the responsibility of the former President of the Hellenic Republic Mr. Prokopis Pavlopoulos and now its current President Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou, while the Honorary Committee of the Greek Programme consists of prominent academics and professors (alphabetically):
